Psychotherapy, also known as “talk-therapy,” is the process of meeting with a trained therapist in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and caring environment where the therapist assists you in exploring your history, thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and goals; and create a personalized process towards resolving barriers and patterns that keep you from experiencing joy, tranquility, and/or success in your life, career, and relationships. Each person is different; and the reason for seeking therapy varies. Engaging in therapy can be helpful at any moment of a person’s life, as it can be a process of going on a journey towards personal growth and also towards addressing a specific issue such as anxiety, depression, trauma or any other stressor negatively impacting a person’s life.
As a therapist, I engage in a collaborative and interactive approach with every client where together we explore how thoughts, feelings, and situations are being processed by the mind, activated in the brain, and experienced in the body. Clients tend to gain a deeper awareness of the self, in addition to developing tools and skills to address situations, emotions, and relationships.
